We understand men have an urge to portray their unique individuality on their first date. But guys, don’t you think it’s the wrong time wrong place?
Every man has a characteristic dressing style which he wishes to share with his beloved but the revelation can definitely wait. For your first date, be the nice, gentle and friendly guy she wants to have a gala time with and not the suited up serious professional or the funky colorful weirdo. Here are some clothes men should never wear to their first date.
Khakis are a great choice for casual meetings and are probably the most comfortable day wear. At times these also work well as office attires. But these dull beige and olive shaded shapeless pants completely dissipate your charm on a romantic evening. They lack the cool feeling of denim and the refined statement made by dress pants.
You would wear these on your first date only if you are aiming at breaking up with her right then and there. Joke tees are the worst consideration for first date attire. Especially the ones with real bad and insulting jokes threaded on them. It is okay to wear them at home or while hanging out with your best buddies. But seriously, on your first date? Then, you need not ask exactly what went wrong.
Too Short Pants
There is no harm in wearing very short pants or for that matter even speedos, but then “bang, bang- you are going on a date”. There is something decent about first dates that should be kept alive with a decent dress up. May be a baggy jeans and oversized Tee shirt will do, but shorts are a complete no no.
Unless your date venue is a skiing spot, I don’t see a single reason why you should wear a turtleneck shirt on your first date. You might argue they are comfy and warm but so are snuggies. Turtlenecks are the most boring costume ever from which you can never extract style, no matter how much you try. So, unless it’s a snowy evening and you are walking hand in hand under ten layers of clothing discard these from your dressing list.
